With the June 2 primary approaching in New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District, voters have a powerful tool at their fingertips that too few people know about: the Federal Election Commission's public campaign finance database at FED.gov.

CD2 Candidate Summary
Terri Reese
Tim Alexander
Zack Mullock
Bayly Winder

Every dollar contributed to a federal campaign — over $200 — must be reported and disclosed to the FEC. That means anyone with internet access can look up exactly who is funding the candidates running to represent us in Congress. You can see where the money is coming from, how much, and when. Why does this matter? Because campaign contributions are how many Americans — fairly or not — gain access to elected officials. When a candidate wins, it's reasonable to ask: whose calls will they take? Whose concerns will they prioritize? This question applies to every candidate in this race. Incumbent Rep. Jeff Van Drew has raised over $1.5 million this cycle, much of it from PACs and organized interests. Voters can look up exactly which industries and donors are backing him at FEC.gov. Democratic primary challengers Bayly Winder, Tim Alexander, Zack Mullock, and Terri Reese are also required to disclose their donors. When you see a candidate accepting money from PACs and corporations you have to wonder who they will represent in congress, you or the corporate interests.  The same scrutiny should be applied to every candidate in this race, regardless of party. None of this requires a political science degree. Go to FEC.gov, type in a candidate's name, and click "Browse receipts." You'll see donor names, employers, occupations, cities, and amounts. You can also visit OpenSecrets.org , which organizes the same FEC data by industry and interest group, making it even easier to spot patterns.  What to know more about the donor, enter the donor FEC details into your favorite AI website.  You will find this quite revealing. South Jersey deserves a representative who answers to the people of this district — not to developers, PACs, or out-of-state interests. The only way to know who your candidate answers to, is to follow the money. The information is public. The tools are free. The primary is June 2. Look it up before you vote.

Terri Reese

Terri Reese is a lifelong resident of New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District who is committed to improving life for working families in our communities. As a single mother with blue-collar roots and a principled fighter for progressive change, Terri brings grassroots energy and community focus to the fight for our future. This campaign is built by, and for, the everyday people of South Jersey. We deserve healthcare we can count on, jobs that pay a living wage, affordable housing and groceries, and a clean environment. It’s time to stop begging for change from politicians owned by corporate interests and wealthy donors. It’s 2026, and working people are done waiting — we want real results that actually improve our lives. In DC, they pretend this is complicated. It’s not. They drag their feet, kick urgent issues down the road, and recycle the same talking points every election while nothing changes for us. It’s time to pass real solutions that deliver for our communities — not the donor class. It’s time to elect real representation.

Tim Alexander

Tim Alexander doesn't just talk about justice — he's lived it, fought for it, and delivered it. With decades of experience as a civil rights attorney and former law enforcement officer, Tim has taken on corrupt systems and stood up for communities that were too often ignored. He's led with integrity when it wasn't popular, and told the truth when others stayed silent. That's the kind of leadership South Jersey needs — tested, fearless, and ready to fight on day one.

Zack Mullock

Zack Mullock was born and raised in South Jersey. Cape May is not just where he lives — it is home. It is where he grew up, where he built his business, where he and his wife are raising their three children, and where his roots run deep. He is running for Congress because he loves this community and feels called to serve it — just as he always has. Zack believes that South Jersey deserves real, homegrown representation. Washington is too often driven by corruption, special interests, and profiteering that leave working families squeezed and unheard. Zack is focused on the issues that matter most here at home: affordability, access to healthcare, responsible energy policy, and protecting our environment. This district cannot afford another election lost to politics as usual.

Bayly Winder

Growing up as a fourth-generation New Jerseyan, I saw service firsthand from my family. Both of my grandfathers served in the military – one earned a Purple Heart – and my mother’s parents served in the State Department and the CIA. I learned from my family what it means to serve and how making our country stronger makes us safer. It’s with these values that I took my first oath of office and pledged to serve the Constitution when I joined the State Department to work on Iran policy during a key time for the Iranian nuclear deal. Under both President Obama and President Trump, I worked to promote American interests in the Middle East. I received the Meritorious Honor Award for my work. I then focused on business growth and technology in the private sector and advised the FBI on cybersecurity and national security. Always called to serve, I returned to government at USAID to advance key programs internationally. As tensions rise globally, I will give South Jersey an experienced voice in Congress to protect American interests around the world.
